Don't
need to live in Xiamen to enjoy Xiamen.
You can go to Xiamen for the day and return the same day because it's
so near. Xiamen is an island city that has an international airport
on the island which is easy to get to if you want to fly somewhere.
Unlike Shanghai Pudong airport that is miles out of town. Also you
can go to the beaches that are clean and to the many other islands
around Xiamen. There are ferries going to the other islands which
are very cheap and really nice to visit.
As
it is an island city most schools are off the island because
renovating the small old campuses to accommodate the large amount
of students would not be practical. This doesn't mean they're
in the middle of nowhere most schools are only an hour away.
It
is obvious that Xiamen will have lots of restaurants and bars
so I don't need to post information about it. What I can tell
you is the air is much better than cities such as Shanghai and
Beijing because at night you can see stars.
One
of the islands to see is Gu Lang Yu, an old colonial island
close to Xiamen and only takes a few minutes on the ferry. Touristy
of course but really nice to visit time after time. One of the
reasons why I prefer living and working here
Things
to do in nearby places.
The
round earth buildings are unique in the Minnan area and scattered
in different towns. You can't find anything else like these
in other places in China.
