Only a half an hour bus ride from the Hua Qiao university is Chong Wu. This beach was used as a fort to guard against those Japanese bandits in ancient times. Just like Vikings would attack coastal cities so did the Japanese. Also you see a thousand and one statues of famous heroes and literture characters.
You can go swimming at the beach I have been told it is safe. I'm sure people will notice a drowning foreigner. You can have a BBQ at night which would for me better than a night club.
