| What
is a moral dilemma: A decision you have to make but you're not
quite sure which one is the most ethical. For instance you want to break
up with your girl/ boyfriend because you know the relationship won't last
long. But if you do then he/she will be heartbroken and if you allow the
relationship to continue then in the end both will be heartbroken. So
your decision will only lead to heart break but which one is more ethical? |

Dilemma
1 |
Situation:
A husband has been offered a new job with a higher salary but
it is far away from where he lives. |
|
| If
he takes the job he will be able to afford a house send his children to
a good school. He can buy many things including to be able to travel many
times in a year. |
But
because it is far away he will have to move which means his children will
have to make new friends. His wife will have to quit her job but won't
be able to get a new job near his new work. |
|
In
your group come up with a solution to this family's problem. |
||
Dilemma
2 |
Situation:
A child's dog is so sick that it won't get better but only worse
and the vet cannot do anything to make the dog better. |
|
The
vet has to make a decision and if he "puts down" the dog the
child will be heartbroken. "To put down" means to let an animal
die rather than to let it suffer. |
But
if the vet lets the dog live it will be so sick that the child will also
be heartbroken because it will not be able to play. Seeing the dog so
sick is a sad thing to see. |
|
In
your group come up with a solution to the vet's problem. |

3 |
Situation:
A student finds out his classmate had cheated in the exam and
does not know if he should report him. |
|
| If
he reports him to the head of the school then the other student will be
expelled and won't be able to graduate. This could effect the other student's
life. |
But
even though everybody else studied hard for this exam they will be angry
at the student reporting another student. So he will be come unpopular
for doing this despite the student did something wrong. |
|
| In
your group come up with a solution to the student's problem. |

| Dilemma
4 |
Situation:
A person saw his friend's girlfriend on a date with another guy
and doesn't know if he should tell his friend. |
|
| If
he tells his friend he might not believe him and think he is lying because
he may be jealous. He will lose his best friend if he tells him the the
truth because his friend won't believe him. |
But
if he doesn't tell him that his girlfriend has another boyfriend and if
he finds out later he will be angry for not being told. The friend will
no longer trust him for keeping such secrets. |
|
| In
your group come up with a solution to the friend's problem. |
||
Dilemma
5 |
Situation:
A girl asked her friend if her singing is good enough to enter
a singing competition but her singing isn't that good and most likely
will lose. |
|
If
her friend tells her that her singing is good enough for the competition
then she will humiliate herself in front of so many people. So the girl
will end up hating her friend for not telling her the truth. |
But
if she tells her the truth then she will be angry for not supporting her.
Also she doesn't know how to tell her that her singing is not that good. |
|
In
your group come up with a solution to the girl's problem. |
