The teacher doesn't know.

The one thing that animals can't do apart from speaking is to lie; not just because they can't speak but they don't have the intelligence to fool another animal. Psychologists gave an experiment to children by telling them not to turn around to look at the toy train which was behind them when the psychologists left them alone in the room. The children would hear the toy train and could not control themselves to take a tiny little peep at it. The psychologist would return and ask if they had looked at the toy train and the children would lie to not get into trouble. An intelligent child would lie straight away and it is part of our survival instinct to do so.

This task is for you to incorporate the teacher but the teacher has no idea what you are going to do. So you will have to interact with the teacher which means you cannot fully prepare this, only some. The purpose of this project is to use your ability not just to communicate but to try to convince another person you can be trusted.

Example:Tthe teacher is all by him/herself and you want to steal money, kill or do something else that is horrible. So you will have to convince the teacher to do something such as buy a cheap fake watch or to have dinner together where you will make him/her pay for the entire bill.

How to do this.

1. What are you going to do to the teacher? In your group, discuss what you are going to do to the teacher; are you going to cheat the teacher out of money by taking him/her to a restaurant or are you going to do something else? Therefore, you will need to plan how you will convince the teacher to do the things you want to do.

2. How are you going to fool the teacher and what things will you say? This project requires the element of surprise which means that if you really want to fool the teacher, you have to be very creative in what you are going to do. Example, the teacher already assumes you are going to trick him/her so you need to come up with a clever way to do so. For instance, you might do something differently to trick him and may want him/her to pose for an advertising photo but you are actually going to make fake passports.

But.... one student can be separate from the other two who comes along to warn the teacher. Example "don't trust them, they tell foreigners they want to practice their English but they will cheat you out of your money.

From this point you can go further by creating a confusion for the teacher of who can he/she trust and thus having to make a decision. You can have one student who pretends to cheat the teacher and then the other two comes along and warns the teacher. Though, it is a plan to gain the trust of the teacher so you can really cheat him/her by thinking that you are good people.

3. The teacher knows he/she will be tricked and will be suspicious of you. It will be easy for you to come up with a lie to trick someone but when that person says no to you, what are you going to do? Example, "Would you like to join us for dinner in a restaurant?" The teacher replies "I don't know I should because I don't know you very well." You could reply "many foreigners have dinner with us all the time."
