A chinese
man said when he was growing up his family was very poor but all
of his childhood memories were of absolute happiness. Now he is
a father he is not poor and his children have more things compared
to what he had when he was young. His children are less content
with life and find it harder to be happy despite they have so

Media
and happiness.
We see in
magazines things such as new cars, big houses and a rich life
style that we feel less happy with our lives because we don't
have these things. The media dictates to us that happiness is
owning these things but because of this pressure it makes us more
depressed. In your opinion do you feel depressed by not living
the life magazines and television tells us we should have?

Happiness
and sadness is only in your mind.
Psychologists
say that happiness is only a choice we make despite whether we
have a reason to be happy. In other words there are people who
are unhappy with their lives but only because they want to be
unhappy. There is nothing wrong with their life but for some reason
they choose to be unhappy. In your opinion do you think that this
is true and there are many people in the world who are unhappy
when they have no reason to be?

Artificial
happiness.
For so many
centuries drugs were being used to create a unnatural happiness
but these days despite the law and punishment people still use
them. Some people became addicted so they can take away bad memories
and to feel happy. Though in the west young people who don't have
any bad memories in their life take drugs just for fun. In your
opinion what do you think about drugs and the affects it has on
people?

Relying
on others to be happy.
Why do we
feel happy when we're with family and friends then we are alone?
Loneliness is like being in a cold dark room and being with other
people brings warmth and light. Is it because when left alone
do we start to dwell on the past and the sad things in our life?
Does being with others make us forget those things? In your opinion
what do you think is the reason why we feel happier with other
people?

Work
and happiness.
Some people
who have a good job that is interesting and high paying are much
happier than those who have ordinary jobs. We like to tell people
what we do for a living and your job is your identity. During
hard economical times people were happy and proud to have any
job but when times are okay people are only proud of having a
good job. In your opinion why do people judge each other of what
type of job they have and how much money they make?

The
depressed inteligent person.
Many intelligent
people who are young happen to be less happier than most other
people. In most cases during high school the intelligent student
is more of an outcast and finds it hard to relate to other students.
An intelligent person sees people as sheep and cannot relate to
them because they are not interested in the same things. In your
opinion why intelligent people are more likely to be depressed
and less confident then ordinary people?

Fresh
air and nature.
Some people
hate living in the large city and prefer to live in a quiet country
town but some people get bored in the country. Though people who
have to work in the city occasionally escape the large concrete
jungle to go sight seeing in nature. People enjoy camping in the
middle of a forest and fish as they find this to be very relaxing.
In your opinion why does nature makes us feel a lot more happier?
